AM Tour #1: Gefertec

Visit to GEFERTEC - Insights into large-volume metal printing with WAAM

Discover the future of additive manufacturing and see first-hand how digital planning becomes reality! We will show you on site how components are adapted using CAD/CAM software, from component printing to the finished component. GEFERTEC's WAAM process offers you the opportunity to manufacture large-volume metal components quickly, cost-effectively and in a resource-saving manner. The automated process shows you how the component is built up layer by layer using an electric arc and wire.

AM Tour #2: Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing (BAM)

BAM: Comprehensive expertise and excellent research infrastructure

During the tour, you will gain insights into the Competence Center for Additive Manufacturing, where the latest technologies and processes are used for material testing. Here, metals, ceramics and cement-based materials are tested under extreme conditions and new methods for quality assurance are developed. You will also experience first-hand how interdisciplinary research is pushing the boundaries of 3D printing and enabling industrial applications. Let us show you how BAM is paving the way for safe and reliable 3D-printed components with the latest technology and extensive expertise.

AM Tour #3: BMW Motorradwerk Berlin

Experience the production of the legendary BMW motorcycles up close, including a look inside the Rapid Prototyping Center

The BMW Group Plant Berlin is one of the BMW Group's most traditional locations. The almost 2,200 employees here produce up to 800 two-wheelers every day. You will visit the logistics center and the assembly hall of the main motorcycle production plant. BMW Motorrad not only works innovatively here, but also particularly efficiently: every 75 seconds, a finished motorcycle leaves the plant and makes its way to one of the 130 countries that are supplied from Berlin-Spandau. Be there live when individual motorcycles are manufactured from around 2,000 parts and components according to customer requirements. At the end of the tour, you will visit the AM department. You can take an exclusive look at the Rapid Prototyping Center and find out how and where additive manufacturing is already being used successfully in production.
